Privacy Policy

Effective October 2, 2026 · Updated October 7, 2026

("we", "us") is a text-message assistant for University of Florida students, operated by Jessica Yang. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

Account details: your @ufl.edu email address, your phone number, the invite code you used, and when you agreed to receive texts.

What you send us: your messages to us, your Canvas calendar feed link, syllabi, screenshots (for example from ONE.UF) and other files you text us, and any grades, schedules, course details, to-do items or preferences (like "no 8 AM classes") you share.

Google account (optional, only if you connect it): if you text "connect gmail" or "connect calendar" and approve on Google's page, we store a Google access token. With Gmail, we read your recent emails to write your morning summary, read or search your emails when you ask, check every 15 minutes for new emails that match an alert you set (like emails from your professor) and text you the sender, subject and first line, archive, star, label or mark them read when you ask, move emails to trash only when you say so, and create, edit or delete drafts you ask for; we never send email and never permanently delete it. With Google Calendar, we read your events for your morning brief and for reminders before events if you ask for them, and add, change or delete events only when you ask. We don't keep copies of your emails or events, only the messages we exchange with you. Text "disconnect google" or remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions anytime, and we delete the token. Extendy's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Notion (optional, only if you connect it): if you text "connect notion" and approve on Notion's page, we store a Notion access token and create one "Extendy to-do" database in the page you choose. We only add and check off your to-do items there; we don't read your other Notion pages. Text "disconnect notion" anytime and we delete the token.

Calendar subscribe link (optional): if you text "apple calendar", we make a private link that shows your deadlines, exams, dated to-do items and UF deadlines in your calendar app. Anyone with the link can see those items, so keep it private. Text "new calendar link" to turn the old link off.

Study and career details (optional): study habits you tell us, study sessions, class meeting times, flashcards, and internship, scholarship or job applications you track with us (organization, role, deadline, status, notes). With Google Sheets connected, we keep your applications in one spreadsheet we create in your Google Drive; we can't see your other Drive files. Your tracker can also be downloaded through your private calendar link.

Voice recordings (optional): if you text us a voice memo or lecture recording, it is turned into text on our own computer, not sent to an outside transcription service, and the audio is deleted after. We keep only the text and what we make from it (notes, flashcards). Florida law lets you record class lectures only for your own studying; don't send recordings of labs, exams or private conversations.

Weekly check-ins (optional): if you answer the optional weekly 1-5 question, we store only the number and the week. Text "no check-ins" to stop them. We never share these answers, and we delete them when you ask.

Location (optional, only if you send it): we can't see your location. If you send us a location pin in Messages, we use it only to answer that message (for example, the closest bus stop), and it's kept with your messages like any other text.

Feedback (optional): if you text us feedback, or ask for something Extendy can't do yet, we save that note with Extendy's reply just before it so the team can see what went wrong. We use it only to improve Extendy.

What we create: reminders, summaries and study questions based on the information above.

We do not ask for and do not store your GatorLink, Canvas or other passwords.

How we use it

We use your information only to run the service: to send you reminders, answer your questions, and improve how well the service works for you. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

AI training: we do not use your information to train AI models. Under its commercial terms, our AI provider, Anthropic, does not train its models on it either.

Nothing is sent in your name without you: emails we draft for you (for example to a professor) open in your own email app or appear in your Gmail drafts, and only you can send them.

AI can be wrong: replies are generated by AI and can contain mistakes. Check important dates and grades in Canvas or ONE.UF. The service is not a substitute for your academic advisor, a counselor or other professional advice. Market briefs are general information, not financial advice.

Text messages

We text you only after you sign up and agree on our website, and after you text us first. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop all texts, or HELP for help.

We do not share your phone number or text-message opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Who processes your data for us

We use a small number of service providers to run the service, and they may handle your data only on our behalf:

Supabase (database and sign-in) · Anthropic (the AI model that reads and writes messages) · Sendblue (sends and receives our texts with you) · Resend (sends sign-in emails) · Cloudflare (hosts this website) · Google (only if you connect Gmail or Google Calendar) · Notion (only if you connect it). Weather (U.S. National Weather Service), bus times (Gainesville RTS) and campus events (UF GatorConnect) come from public feeds; we don't send them any of your information.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Message history is deleted automatically after 30 days. Course details, reminders and grades are kept while your account is active. If you text STOP or ask us to delete your account, we delete your messages, files and course data within 30 days, except where we must keep a record of your opt-out.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing .

Security

Your data is stored with access controls and encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't text us anything you would not want stored, such as passwords or Social Security numbers.

Cookies and tracking

This website stores only what it needs to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

If the service changes hands

If the service is transferred to a company we form or to another organization, your information may move with it, and this policy will still apply to it.

Age

The service is for university students who are 18 or older.

Changes
